Mounted Fencing Clinic - September 2024 Recap

Historic Equitation organised an exciting mounted fencing clinic during the weekend of September 21-22, 2024, at its Northampton facility. The training was directed by Mike Canfor, an expert in mounted martial arts who drew inspiration from historical combat manuals by Talhoffer and Lichtenauer.

The clinic welcomed participants at various skill levels, from newcomers to experienced riders. Attendees focused on developing their mounted fencing abilities by merging historical methodology with practical instruction. These events have grown increasingly popular since the pandemic ended, reflecting renewed enthusiasm for historical martial arts practices.
